Also For Use With Two Handed Rods
The design of the "Striker" reel ensures viability for use on two handed rods. The reels have smaller arbors, which increase capacity for the longer and thicker lines used, plus the weight of the reel balances the rod/reel system.

Drag System
Draw Bar Drag System with a "Carbontex" Drag washer.
The drag on the reel cannot be locked up, but straight pull pressures through the reel of up to 7lb are achievable. With palm heel pressure to the spool rim, further drag pressures are attainable.
The placement of the Drag Knob on the back of the frame enables continuous access to adjust the drag.
All parts of the reel are accessible for servicing and it was purpose built to ensure durability. Having said that the reel does not need regular servicing.
To dismantle the Direct Drive, remove the screw which holds the drag nut in place and remove the draw bar, this allows for the spool to be removed, giving access to the bearings, which are sealed stainless steel.
The attachment with the reel guides the easy assembly of the unit. After use the only thing that needs to be done is to spray with warm freshwater, (the shower is the best way) to eliminate salt and contaminants and rub a cloth coated with water dispersant over the reel to protect the aluminium.
